"I first started mountain biking in 2007 at age 13 in Verbier, Switzerland, where my parents have a summer house. I was into XC at first, but switched over to downhill and freeride riding the following year after the purchase of my 2008 Specialized Demo 7 II. Early in the 2008 season, Vivian Viljoen, a friend and riding buddy from school and I decided to shoot a movie to document our riding experiences in Verbier, which was to be called 2WO FO4R ZER0. In July, we headed down to the small village for a week of almost non-stop riding, shooting video as we went. It turned out to be great fun riding and shooting, and it added a new aspect to the sport for me. After Verbier, we planned to shoot in 3 other locations around Europe, but school work got in the way and Vivian ended up having to move to South Africa early the following season. This meant that we had to scramble to shoot in at least one other location in April 2009, which turned out to be our resident town of Hamburg, Germany. In May that year, I began the task of editing what we had shot. Considering I had never properly edited a video in my life before, starting out of Premiere Pro CS4 turned out to be quite a steep learning curve, and the 6-miunte finished product took almost 3 weeks to edit. 2WO FO4R ZER0 was far from a success when it was released in early June 2009, but by that time I was already hooked on filming and editing."
